Karate Tournament November 2010

I showed my go for it attitude. I entered the karate tournament, competed in the kata and the kumite (fighting). I tried my best. Mum and Dad were very proud of me for giving it a go. We stayed on a Marae for two nights before the tournament, staying with all the other stduents and their families. It was good fun. I got a certificate for fourth place in the kumite. I am looking forward to next years tournament now.

C7 - Three Billy Goats Gruff

In Week 9 of Term 3, C7 presented the Three Billy Goats Gruff play for Kowhai Team and for our families. I was the narrator. Mrs Burnett thought I was pretty clever at learning my parts. I had to read lots of lines for the play. Image was the troll, he was great at being a troll. Nanny, Dad and Mum came to watch the play.

Happy 6th Birthday

Kia ora. It has been a while since my last post. Alot has happened. I have had my 6th Birthday. I was lucky. I had cake to share with C7, that night Maddi, Mum and dad and Nanny and Koro and I went to Gengys for dinner. The next morning I had my Birthday party at Playtopia. I had friends and cousins at my birthday party. It was fun. We all enjoyed the slide. I got heaps of awesome presents and Mum got lots of photos taht she will post on the blog too.

Toothless

Like my new smile! On Thursday 17th June I had to have two teeth pulled out to make way for the new one slowly coming through. The dental nurse gave me some help. The new tooth was sitting too far back in my mouth and she made room for it. My baby teeth were a little wobbly but not woobly enough so she pulled them out. I was really brave. I got $5.00 each tooth from the tooth fairy because I was so brave. Now when I speak some of my sounds are different. A lisp is coming from the empty space in my mouth.

White Belt Yellow Tab

On Saturday 15th May I did my grading. White Belt with Yellow Tab. I have been practicing hard of my grading. I got a special certificate given to me by the grand master. Next grading I will go for my Yellow Belt. Mum, Koro, Aunty Tina and Hawaiki came to watch me. For doing so well with my grading and getting the Princiapls Award for C7 last week, I was allowed a special treat. I took Maddi and Mum to the movies to see Iron Man 2.

Holiday in Auckland

During the school holidays we went to Auckland. Liam, Maddison, Mum, Dad and I went to Auckland for the weekend.
We had lots of fun. We took the van and travelled up after Dad had finished work on Friday. Quick stop at Candyland to stock up with goodies. We stayed in a motel, the Airport Inn. Mum wouldn't let us sit on the floor because the room was pretty paru. We had to keep our shoes on and next time Mum is going to look at the accomodation before she actually pays for it.
Friday night we went to Westfield Mall for dinner and were evacuated for a fire alarm that went off.
Early Saturady morning we arrived at the zoo a half hour before it opened. The zoo was interesting. We got pretty close to an elephant and their were some crazy monkeys making some loud noises. We moved around the zoo pretty quickly. All the animals were up and about. I was pretty scared of the Trarantula.
After the zoo and some lunch we headed to Rainbows End. Now this is what I am talking about! How cool is that! I loved the rides. The scarier the better. I wasn't very happy though because I was a little too short for alot of them. I did manage to go on the Fear Fall. That was cool! We spent all afternoon there until the park closed at 5pm. Mum said we will go back in summer and by then I would have grown enough to go on all the rides I want to. It was really cool and heaps of fun. I Like the rides it reminds me of Euro Disney.
From Rainbows End we went to the movies to see a 3D Movie. How to train a dragon. Cool movie. Dad really liked it. I didn't wear my glasses and Mum got hoha with me for not wearing them. Cool movie.
After the movie was dinner at Cobb n Co. It was getting late and we were all tired and hungry. We all had a roast dinner. On the way home Maddi and I both fell alseep. It was a big day and we had a good sleep that night.
Next morning was Dads 45th birthday. We headed home early and were back by lunchtime. We went to go Luge Riding in the afternoon but had to postpone it because the lines were way too long. That was a busy weekend and we had fun. Check out some of the photos from the Auckland visit.

School Holidays

It is the school holidays. I have had an easter hunt with my cousins and now my big brother is home for the week. I like having Alex home. Yesterday he got me hot cakes from McDonalds for breakfast. I spent the day with Hawaiki at Chipmunks. Tomorrow I will be getting a haircut. Alex wants me to get it short as but Mum doesn't. I want it to be like Alex's. This weekend Me, Maddi, Liam and Mum and Dad are going to Auckland. We will stay for two nights and go to the Zoo, Rainbows End and the movies. Looking forward to that.

Easter 2010

Scarlet Fever

On Tuesday this week I stayed home with my mum. I had a temperture and a sore throat. I just lay around watching TV all day. Didn't feel like doing anything.
The next moring I still wasn't well so I stayed home again with my dad. Dad took me to the doctor. Dr Lovegrove said that I had the redest tonsils she had seen for awhile. I got some antibiotics and pamol. STill just lay around.
The next day Mum dropped me off at Nannys for the morning. When she went to take my sweat shirt off, Mum noticed a rash all over my body. It was back to the doctors again. This time Nanny took me to the doctor and Dr Lovegrove said I had Scralet Fever brought on from my sore throat.I've been home from school all week.
Today is Friday my throat is feeling better, my temperture is gone and I am happy to run and bounce around the house.
But I still have my rash. Hope it is gone by Monday so that everything can go back to normal. Mum wants me to go back to school.

Reading Achievements

Kia ora koutou
I did a running record with Mrs Burnett last week. A running record helps identify what reading level I am on. I moved up two reading levels to Green. This means I am already reading at a 6 year old expectation.
I want to get to Gold level before I am 6 Years Old. I will have to work hard.
